Dr Jennifer Flynn is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the assessment, management and surgical treatment of shoulder conditions.

After receiving a Bachelor of Medical Science and a medical degree with Honours at the University of Tasmania Dr Flynn went on to complete the orthopaedic training program with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne and Tasmania. Dr Flynn has completed a Master of clinical epidemiology and statistics and a post graduate qualification in Medical Law. She is a registered fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She is a member of the Victorian Shoulder and Elbow Society and the Australian Medical Association.

Dr Flynn is based in Melbourne and works privately at the Epworth hospital in Richmond which offers patients state of the art diagnostic and treatment facilities as well as excellent care. Dr Flynn has been appointed to the Epworth Richmond Medical Advisory Committee and is an Executive Member of the Musculoskeletal Clinical Institute at Epworth. She is involved in teaching of clinical assessment and management of shoulder conditions to medical students.

Dr Flynn is also accredited at Warringal Hospital, Heidelberg and operates at St Vincent’s Hospital, Kew.

Dr Flynn undertook additional training in shoulder and upper limb surgery with an honourary clinical position at the Austin Hospital and a fellowship at Melbourne Orthopaedic Group.  Her areas of expertise are shoulder replacement surgery, trauma and shoulder arthroscopy including degenerative and sports-related conditions of the shoulder.

Keeping up to date with the latest technology is important and Dr Flynn has an active role in research, having published several papers in both Australian and international orthopaedic journals on shoulder arthroplasty and rotator cuff operative techniques. She has presented at Australian and international conferences and is a peer reviewer for several international shoulder journals.
